Increasing mobility, agility, & stability for body & mind.

Client focused treatment to optimize body and mind

By incorporating Eastern theories of energetic manipulation in conjunction with Western anatomy and medical massage, my practice focuses on promoting wellness by reducing overall stress, relaxing muscle tension, quieting the mind, alleviating acute pain or chronic issues, and soothing physical and emotional trauma.

This work is a co-creative process that encourages your participation in enacting changes in the body to meet long term health goals and ease stress on the mind.

Testimonials

  • “I have been seeing Thérèse for massage for the past eight years. She is a gifted practitioner and has always been able to tailor her treatment to my needs. While I was pregnant, I saw her more regularly (including the day I ultimately gave birth) and would consider her an essential part of my perinatal care team if I were to become pregnant again. There are many options for massage in NYC but I’ve never worked with a practitioner as skilled as Therese, and highly recommend her to anyone.”

    ~Ann

  • “Thérèse’s skilled treatment left me feeling completely relaxed, rejuvenated, and utterly at ease. A truly remarkable massage therapist.”

    ~Hassan

  • “I love Therese's strong magic hands! She always manages to undo the neck/back/calf muscle strains that are exacerbated by my work. I go to her in pain and an hour later, magic, walk out 😊. I give Therese a double thumbs & toes up recommendation!

    ~ N. Mithani, Physician Assistant

  • “Thérèse efficiently identifies and treats you the root cause of any pain or discomfort. Often this is counterintuitive (massaging a muscle behind the abs or in the back to release a quad) but effective. There aren't many massage therapists with enough knowledge to offer an equivalent level treatment!”

    ~Paul S.

  • “Thérèse was instrumental in my recovery from a mastectomy at 30 years old and has remained a consistent element of my continued healing and general wellness. My full range of motion is returned and her continued body work helps to maintain my flexibility and keeps me pain free. I can’t speak highly enough of her experience and expertise. She’s also a wonderful wellness guide in identifying stress points for each individual.“

    ~Lydia J.

  • “You will wish Thérèse had been in your life sooner the moment you are under her care. She is the most talented massage therapist I have ever been treated by. I have know and been under Thérèse’s care for four years. Over that time she has treated me for both problem areas and when I just need to relax. I trust her completely and I recommend her without hesitation.”

    ~Rachael F.

  • “I have been going to Therese for over 10 years. She is hands down (or hands on) the best massage therapist that I have ever had. She intuitively knows what is wrong, and how to fix it without you having to say a word. Thérèse never ceases to amaze me with her incredible intuition and goes far above and beyond the typical massage. She genuinely cares for and about her clients.”

    ~Alicia P.

About Thérèse

In 2007 I suffered a debilitating neck injury and was told by doctors I would never backpack again. After a year of medications that did not work, my body had an extraordinary response to complementary and alternative medicine. It was two years later, while backpacking the Camino de Santiago de Compostela in 2009, that I first entertained the idea of becoming a massage therapist.

In 2012 I returned to NYC from Maui to study at Swedish Institute. After initially focusing on western massage, I became fascinated with the mind-body connection and the energetics of bodywork, and began seeking out classes that bridged the gap between western and eastern sciences. I use these tools to assess and treat the whole body and support the mind.
